Eggless Churros | Main/ Snack

Ingredients & Adaptations

CHURRO

  1. 1 cup water

  2. 1 tbsp granulated sugar

  3. Pinch of salt

  4. 2-3 tbsp cooking oil

  5. 1 cup all-purpose flour

  6. More oil for frying


COATING

  1. 4-5 tbsp granulated sugar

  2. Cinnamon


Directions
  1. Combine water, sugar, salt and oil in a small saucepan.

  2. Bring to a boil and stir in flour to form a ball.

  3. Heat oil for deep frying.

  4. Put dough into a bag and pipe into strips.

  5. Fry until golden and drain off excess oil.

  6. Roll in cinnamon sugar mixture while still hot.

  7. Serve.


Thoughts

The recipe was easy and fuss-free. My friend also mentioned that you can add an egg for the churro but it is all personal preference on the texture and taste. I meant to pipe out the usual churros using a star tip but the batter was a little too thick so i changed to dropping it in.
