How Did I Get There: Train from accommodation, Walk using Naver Map
Upon arrival, we went to Lotte Mart for some groceries shopping before heading to our Airbnb to drop our luggages. We initially planned to have Korean barbeque at Hongdae but we could not locate it. We stumbled upon James Cheese Back Ribs and decided to try out since it was on our "to-try" list.
It is really hard to miss with their large marquee sign.
To be honest, we were all starving and just started placing order once we made up our mind. Some of us (including me) did not even look at the price, only to know that we are already balling on our first meal after our other friends told us the amount we are paying for.
Nonetheless, it was really worth it. We gotten two set since there was seven of us. Each set consist of either the grilled pork ribs/ chicken pieces or beef (i think), a side and a choice of their draft beer for each of us.
When everything arrived on our table and we were ready to eat, the staff came to help torch the cheese and roll the pork ribs. It was a fun experience as he even asked us to give it a try.
With my plain taste buds, I would describe "alright" to most food but this was "really delicious" to me. I am not sure why but I would also say that I had fun there too. The atmosphere was fitting for groups to chill. In addition to the different type of draft beer, we got to try each other's order and taste different things.
It was about over $30 per person, which technically is not a lot for an adult. But I guess at that point in time, we were all on some sort of budget as a student. Ignoring the price, this place was really worth a try with the good food, music and drinks. Judging from our happy faces after a satisfying meal, I would totally recommend James Cheese and go back again someday.
