阿凡达神秘花园
Country: Penang, Malaysia
Address: 336, Jalan Tokong Thai Pak Koong, Tanjung Tokong, 11200 Tanjung Bungah, Pulau Pinang
Hours: 8am-12am daily, LED light from 735pm onwards
Located behind the Thai Pak Koong Temple is the Pandora inspired secret garden. The Penang Avatar Secret Garden was a project by MBI, consisting of Neon LED lights being draped and wrapped at the branches and trunks of trees.
Lights are expected to on at 735pm so before that, we chilled at the beach for a while. I would say to drop by earlier as the horizon looked really nice, with the boats along the jetty.
There are some statues along the shores and on the left of the beach, there are some large rocks and machine gun post. All perfect for photos.
With all that being said, I guess this place is worth an one-time visit since admission is free. The area with LED lights is not very big but there several photo spots around. E.g this giant chessboard.
When we were about to leave, there was this group of foreigners from US (i think). They were stopped by one of the guy from the temple, asking for admission fee from each of them. I've read about this somewhere online, and to witness it myself was a little surprising. The tour guide bringing them seemed to be used to it so he just disregarded the guy's pestering and brought his group into the garden area. (Just fyi to all to be aware)
That's all I have for this place.
