How Did I Get There: Train from accommodation, Walk using Naver Map
I discovered this place from a post by Gemma Wardle from A Fat Girl's Food Guide and absolutely had to try it out. The market itself is similar to a long alley with lots of food and other things. You can refer to this map from their website for more information.
For 5,000 won each, we were given a lunch box and 10 brass coins to "purchase" our food from the stalls.
Most of the traditional Korean street food cost 1-2 coins but of course not all stalls are participating in this service so we had to look out for this logo prior to buying our food.
Throughout the market, I felt that the variety were quite similar with just a couple of unique stores. However, I would recommend to take your time to look around as different stores may sell the food at different price. But if you happened to run out of coins, you can also pay using real money.
With that being said, we took our time and our food eventually got cold in addition to the weather. It felt as though we ate food that was just removed from the refrigerator without heating up. I mean, it is not the best food in town but it is very affordable and a good opportunity to try different street food without breaking the bank.
You can also be creative in how you want to spend your 10 coins. We spent ours individually as we had different taste but my other friend, who went to the same place, actually combined her 10 coins with her friends. This is so that they could try more things without having to eat a huge portion of it.
