How Did I Get There: Walk from Yeonpat using Naver Map

Naver Map is probably one of the best invention for people travelling in South Korea. After having lunch, my initial plan was to check out Semiwon; a botanical garden that features lotus flowers. The 4-story building that you see in the gif is actually a cafe and museum, which offers free entry. Hence, I did check out some of the exhibitions and admired some of the locals' paintings.

However, the garden itself is not free to enter. Luckily, there is another way to walk to Dumulmeori hence I skipped paying a few dollars for Semiwon and just worked off some calories on my walk there.

On my way there, I manage to spot the pink truck that sells lotus hotdog too! As I was still full from my meal, I decided to skip this. (Don't worry, there is another stall at the place itself too)

From my way there to literally being there, it is really scenic with the calm river and cherry blossom trees. If you are not that into nature, Dumulmeori might actually bore you. Thankfully, I was having some quality me-time with some music and slow walk.

This insta-worthy-looking bridge is probably the one that connects to Semiwon. Though I cannot confirm this information as all I know is that there is a guard post at the end, closer to Dumulmeori hence visitors cannot cross the bridge freely.

Remember what I said about the lotus hotdog? Just as I cleared up some space in my stomach, I saw a long queue for what seemed like a pop-up store selling street snacks.

Ignore your guts, just queue because it moves at a fast pace and the hotdog is really tasty with a mix of sweet and salty. I cannot taste the lotus component but I liked the texture of it, similar to that of a corndog or waffle hotdog. It's just 3,000 won. JUST GO FOR IT.

One iconic spot to take photo would be this large frame. I would have used the tripod on my gimbal but some Korean family asked me for help for their shot and offered to help me so I saved myself some trouble.

Like I mentioned that besides scenery, there is not much to see or explore at Dumulmeori but I guess it would be good for you to know that there is this giant map and stone signage at the end of the dock.

It was honestly a chill adventure until I got on a bus - initially to rejoin my friends who were at Nami Island/ Petite France. Keyword: initially because we had a change of plans so we all meet up at home for some home-cooked dinner.

Going back to my bus ride back, I did not know how Korea bus route loops hence the bus that I board was going further away from Ungilsan station. When I wanted to alight out of nowhere, the driver asked me where I was heading and got me to just stay onboard until he tell me to alight. Funny because as we loop back to the bus stop where I boarded, and two students (who were first waiting together with me) then boarded. #dumbtouristmoment but ok.
